So, you get to the final battle and get obliterated usually unfairly before you even have a chance to get going. This does 0 weeding out since everything else on Medium is a breeze with the legendary checkpoint fights being sometimes a battle but that's it. I used to joke with Slay the Spire that the person that developed the 3rd floor never talked to the 1st and 2nd floor developers because there was a jump there, but they knew how to weed out sub-par decks so you don't waste 90-150 minutes when you have 0 chance to win. When the final fights are nowhere near any of the other fights throughout the scenario, you've failed level design badly. This was on the branching scenario, but this time my final 2 choices were this guy or the Glass Elemental. The Sun guy does 6 damage every 3 turns which should matter, but the other 2 guys will obliterate you before that really matters. The board was atrocious with 0 cover for me which matters because they have the Ranged pull 3 then magically their 7 other cards were melee attacks which they'd boosted to 3 with their +1 power on turn 1. Had a phenomenal team ready to fight the Sun guy with his 2 minions that start with a ludicrously high amount of health (27 while he's at 40-something with armor). Trials is a massive amount of fun, but the pre-done scenarios are just horrendously bad.
